6-3 Supreme Court decision that state employees cannot bring their discrimination complaints to federal courts when the discrimination allegation relates to adverse job actions unique to their situation. Engquist, a state worker in Oregon, claimed she was fired for arbitrary, vindictive, and malicious reasons. The court concluded that extending protection to state workers in unique situations would lead to undue judicial interference in state employment practices. From Findlaw.com.
