5-4 decision by the Supreme Court that a Pakistani man cannot sue former Attorney General John Ashcroft and FBI Head Robert Mueller for his incarceration after the 9/11 attacks. Javaid Iqbal had sought redress for his arrest which he felt was based on discriminatory policies based on his religion and nationality. The court ruled that the top officials were not liable for the actions of their subordinates. From Findlaw.com
