Solid Waste Managed in Virginia During Calendar Year 2008

Reports that 22 million tons of solid waste material was received at solid waste management facilities in Virginia during 2008, a decrease of about 6% from 2007. 6 million tons of this total came from out of state with Maryland, New York, Washington DC, North Carolina and New Jersey as the leading sources.
