New Orleans was Nation's Fastest Growing City in 2008

Press release which reports that New Orleans grew at a rate of 8.2% in 2008, faster than any other large city in the U.S. The July 1, 2008 population of New Orleans was still about 170,000 below the pre-Katrina level. Four of the ten fastest growing cities in the U.S. from 2007 to 2008 were in Texas. Arlington and Alexandria were the only Virginia cities in the top 20.
