Treatment for Substance Use and Depression Among Adults, by Race/Ethnicity

Reports that 9.7% of adults needed treatment for a substance use problem in the past year and that approximately 1 in 12 adults had a major depressive episode in the past year. Also reports that Blacks had higher rates of treatment for substance use in a specialty facility than persons of other races, and that whites were more likely to receive treatment for depression.
