Technology

In all of its forms, technology has become an indispensable resource for library patrons. Our Information Commons provides a space for students in which technology and research are inextricably linked to allow for a new learning environment.

Information Commons

Media Center

The Swem Media Center provides digital media studios and equipment to serve the instructional and curricular needs of the William & Mary community. Support is continually needed to further equip these spaces with the most up to date equipment, so that William & Mary students can further incorporate the seemingly endless possibilities that technology provides them with their studies.

Adopt a Book

The College is truly fortunate to possess such rich and varied collections and takes seriously its role as trusted steward of these irreplaceable artifacts. Given the breadth and depth of Swem’s collections, its conservation needs are considerable. A conservator recently evaluated the library’s Special Collections and estimated that approximately 50 percent of its rare books need some attention, with five to ten percent requiring detailed attention.

If you have an interest in a particular subject, our staff would be more than willing to help you find a book relating to that subject for you to preserve. For these specific requests, or general information, please contact the Library Development Office, 757-221-3060.
