Anywhere, anytime access to higher education resource

William & Mary students, faculty and staff can now access The Chronicle for Higher Education, a newspaper covering higher education matters, online from anywhere, anytime. The College’s Swem Library now provides direct off-campus access via W&M email addresses.

The Chronicle provides news and information about higher education; job listings in academia; online discussion forums; and career-building tools such as online CV management, salary databases and more.

“One feature we believe our students will benefit from is the Chronicle’s daily access to new job postings. This resource is also a good tool for networking with educators, emerging scholars and others in academia,” said Natasha McFarland, a research and instruction librarian at Swem Library.

Creating individual accounts allows users to store job applications, letters of recommendations, references and other documents all in one place, making this resource a “one stop shop for career development,” adds McFarland.

To access The Chronicle off-campus, users simply visit Chronicle.com, click “Log In” at the top of the page, choose “Create a Free Account” and enter their W&M email address to set up an account. On-campus users do not need to create an account to gain access. Users can also access this resource from a smartphone, tablet or iPad.
