The SCRC can provide limited research services for a fee for off-site patrons. The charge is $25/hour for a limit of two hours. Research requests should be submitted in writing via mail to: SCRC Research Service, Swem Library, PO Box 8794, Williamsburg, VA 23187-8794, or via email to spcoll@wm.edu.
Your research request should include:
1) what information you desire (be as specific as possible)
2) what you already know about the topic (time period, geographic location, names of people, etc.)
3) what sources you have already used
4) what specific sources, if any, that you want to be sure we search.
Please be sure to include an email address or phone number so we can contact you quickly if we have questions and a mailing address so we can send you any photocopies and a bill . Any requests which do not have the necessary contact information will be discarded. You will be billed by the College of William and Mary's Bursar's Office after the research has been completed.
Please keep in mind that the SCRC staff cannot draw conclusions for you and that we cannot guarantee that the research we do will find the answers you want; not all research efforts are successful. You will still be responsible for paying for our research time.
