About Library Liaisons

Swem library liaisons promote communication between the library and its users. Each of these librarians is assigned to assist one or more academic departments and/or interdisciplinary programs. The liaisons inform faculty, students, and staff about the library's holdings and services and gather information from the university community about constituents' needs and concerns.

Among the outreach projects that liaisons undertake are: training in the use of print and electronic resources, serving as advocates for departmental library issues, engaging in collection assessments, monitoring approval plans and book budgets, and recommending materials for purchase.

Contact your library liaison if you'd like to discuss how Swem's resources and services can assist you in teaching and research. The library sees liaison exchanges as an ideal way to promote the cooperation and mutual planning that is essential in building and maintaining a superior library.
