Departmental Orders

Swem Library's goal is to have a rich and varied collection of books, electronic and audiovisual material, and serials. Each academic department or program has a library representative who is responsible for expending allocated book funds and managing library orders for the department. These faculty members work with their colleagues and with the library staff to acquire library resources for teaching and research. Since policies and procedures for requesting library materials vary from department to department, you should contact your department's library representative about these procedures for your area.

Whom to Contact at Swem

Each academic department or interdisciplinary program has a liaison on the Swem Library staff who works with the departmental faculty representative to develop Swem's collections in that subject area. Your library liaison will be happy to discuss the library's holdings in your area of interest with you.
